The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Review: A Compelling Legal Drama

The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Review: The Lincoln Lawyer is a legal drama television series created by David E. Kelley and developed by Ted Humphrey. The show is based on the books of Michael Connelly and stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller, a defense attorney in Los Angeles who often works out of a chauffeur-driven Lincoln Navigator.

The second season of the series premiered on Netflix on July 6, 2023, and was released in two parts. In this review, we’ll take a closer look at the second season of The Lincoln Lawyer and see if it lives up to the hype.

The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Plot

The second season of The Lincoln Lawyer picks up where the first season left off. Mickey Haller is now a wealthy man thanks to his recent successes in various cases, especially the Travis Elliott case. He no longer practices law out of the back of his vintage Lincoln Town Car and now has a downtown law office. He is driven around in a Lincoln SUV by Izzy Letts (Jazz Raycole), and his second ex-wife Lorna (Becki Newton) serves as his admin and paralegal while she goes to law school. Her fiancé Cisco (Angus Sampson) is the firm’s investigator.

The second season of the series finds Mickey doing quite well for himself, but that might not last for very long. He has been busy fielding interviews and doing photo shoots at his house in the Hollywood hills. A new client, Teddy Vogel (Chris Browning), has retained Mickey to get him out of trespassing and burglary charges stemming from an incident where he woke up from a night of drinking in the wrong townhome. Mickey also has to deal with the reopening of the murder case of his client Jesús Menendez (Sal Huezo), whose previous verdict was vacated.

The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Cast

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo returns as Mickey Haller, a criminal-defense lawyer and recovering addict. Adan James Carillo and Gabriel Negret play young Mickey Haller in season 1 and season 2, respectively. Neve Campbell plays Maggie McPherson, Mickey’s first ex-wife and a criminal prosecutor. Becki Newton plays Lorna Crane, Mickey’s second ex-wife and his legal aide. Jazz Raycole plays Izzy Letts, a former addict and client of Mickey in an assault and theft case and now working as his personal driver to pay off her legal fee to Mickey.

Angus Sampson plays Dennis “Cisco” Wojciechowski, Mickey’s friend and go-to investigator and Lorna’s fiancé. Christopher Gorham plays Trevor Elliott, a billionaire video game developer suspected of a double murder in season 1. Ntare Mwine plays Detective Raymond Griggs, a detective investigating Jerry Vincent’s murder case.

My Review on The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2

The second season of The Lincoln Lawyer is a compelling legal drama that is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The show’s plot is well-written and engaging, and the cast delivers excellent performances. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo is particularly impressive as Mickey Haller, and he brings depth and nuance to the character. The show’s supporting cast is also excellent, and they all do a great job of bringing their characters to life.

One of the things that sets The Lincoln Lawyer apart from other legal dramas is its attention to detail. The show’s writers have clearly done their research, and they do an excellent job of portraying the legal system realistically. The show’s use of Los Angeles as a backdrop is also a nice touch, and it gives the show a unique flavor.
